Initial test pile program is nearly complete.
While additional piles are being made, contractor will be removing the existing piles from the water.
Expect occasional one lane road closures with flaggers in the next few weeks, as underground pipe crossings are installed. |

Having completed the slab removal and preparation of the remaining bridge, the road is reopened to traffic on 26 March, 2021 but closed for pedestrian and bicyclist.
Contractor is now setting templates to drive the first three concrete piles for the new bridge, which will be analyzed to determine optimum pile length.
You may expect to notice some pile driving during the week of 29 March.
Additional demolition of the old bridge piers and piles will follow. |

Contractor’s crane is now working off a floating barge. Removal of the westbound deck slabs is complete, and temporary asphalt widening placed for the new traffic configuration. Progress is being made on demolition of the old bridge supports. |
